Although wedding planning can sometimes feel overwhelming or even a burden (cue: hire me) it's nice to set aside time for the small details, which can make a huge impact.
. . .
Even if it is one more thing to add to your list, having something sentimental present on your wedding day is sure to bring comfort and a bit of originality to the table, literally. Whether it's a small piece of jewelry, or a whole table of vintage photographs, your family and friends will love that you incorporated something of days past into your big day.
Here are a few of our favorites:

Our beautiful bride Erin used her late grandmothers gorgeous vintage gold leaf dessert plates for their wedding cake. The delicate duo were then perfectly paired with two custom hand stamped gold forks purchased from Etsy ( shop similar style here and here )

Yours truly donned my late Nana's sapphire ring, that was loaned to me by my sweet cousin & proved to be the perfect dainty addition to our already blue and gold color scheme. I love that I have a few shots of such a beautiful heirloom.

We also had the "magic hanky" on deck at our nuptials. Somehow, my mother managed to keep it tucked away for 27 years, and then had it embroidered to use as I walked down the aisle. Clueless on this cloths' significance? Here's the poem about the magic hanky: I’m just a dainty hanky, As square as square can be. With stitches hands have fashioned A bonnet out of me. She’ll wear me home, a newborn, Or for a special day. Then I’ll be washed and pressed and neatly tucked away. When Her Wedding Day arrives, She’ll search about I’m told, To find an item quite small Of long ago and old. And when she spots baby’s cap No better will she see. Snip out my stitches, and a Wedding hanky I’ll be.
If you can see through the tears (is anyone else crying? Just me. Alright) you can find a magic hanky here . And yes, I was fortunate enough to have my dear Aunt Cindy stitch me one for our daughter, and she'll be wearing it home from the hospital! Whatever the piece, having a few small tokens of the past will definitely be something you won't regret incorporating.
